A disaster photo illustration

This photo illustration for the Friday Cover was a struggle for me. I spent a lot of time working on this one to make it feel photo realistic even though there was no way it was real.

The base was some stock photos that I was able to manipulate and add a color layer over to give it drama and, honestly, to hide anything that wouldn’t be realistic in the end result.

In the end, after a full day working on this one, I think it really came together well.
